FAQ

Here’s a list of Frequently Asked Questions. Please note that this page may change, so check back. If you’ve got a question you’d like to see answered on this page, email us at: RC@nawiliwiliyachtclub.org

1. What about slips?

Mooring will be taken care of for you at both Kaneohe and Nawiliwili. You can stay for two days free of charge; the primary sponsors will be picking up the tab. Please note that this is on a space available basis. It shouldn’t be a problem though, at either location. If you do have to be on the hook in Nawiliwili, the anchorage is very well protected.

2. Where can I get fuel?

Unfortunately, there are no dockside fueling facilities in the small boat harbor. You can arrange for diesel fuel by calling I&L Rentals at 246-3900 and talk to the manager. On 4/17/2017, diesel was offered at $8/gallon with a $75 delivery charge. Delivery charge is dropped if you buy 100 gallons. I&L would like 2 days lead time to guarantee delivery. Fueling is done at the loading dock next to the launch ramp.

3. Is it possible to rent a car?

Yup. Rental car companies have said they will be happy to pick up customers from the Small Boat Harbor. They are:

Avis (808) 245-3512 or (800) 831-2487
Thrifty (800) 847-4389

4. What about hotels?

There are several hotels within walking distance in the area. They are:

The Kauai Inn

  • (800) 808-2330
  • info@kauai-inn.com

The Garden Island Inn

  • (800) 648-0154

The Kauai Marriot

  • (808) 245-5050

5. Anyplace to get a free hot shower before the party?

YES! NYC has a hot shower!

6. Where can I eat?

There are plenty of places to eat near the small boat harbor. 2 mini-malls worth! Don’t forget, there will be plenty of food at the yacht club on both Friday after you arrive and Saturday at the awards party. NYC will also host a full breakfast on Saturday and Sunday from 8-10AM.

7. How far is it to the airport?

It’s actually very close as the crow flies! Getting there is about 4 miles. Taxis are available but they’ll run you about $10-$12. Here are some numbers:

Akiko’s Taxi 822-7588, 651-9117
City Cab 639-7932
